In Search of God's Promises

What is the one thing we do when we feel out of control in a situation? We grasp onto something stable, something we can lean on, something that will hold us up. When the ground is shifting we want something solid to stand on. This is a journey through the Bible in search of God's promises for us today. Let's look together to see how many "boulders" He has in His quarry for us to stand on! "It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants." Rom. 9:8

Promise 22 from Leviticus 25:20-22

Lev. 25:20-22 - "'But what if you say, "What are we going to eat on the seventh year if we do not sow or gather in our crops?" then I will so order My blessing for you in the sixth year that it will bring forth the crop for three years. When you are sowing the eighth year, you can still eat old things from the crop, eating the old until the ninth year when the crop comes in.'" - God is saying to His people that not only do people need a Sabbath rest but the land does as well. God is a God of abundance. We can work and work non-stop on whatever our professions is, but sometimes God forces us up from striving in our own strength to do our job and wants us to let go and see what God does with it. We can produce fruit, but God can provide abundantly more. It is difficult to let go of a thing; difficult for parents to let go of their children or a pastor of his church. But God says, let it rest and I will take care of it. You will see it thrive. God is a God of abundance.
