In Search of God's Promises

What is the one thing we do when we feel out of control in a situation? We grasp onto something stable, something we can lean on, something that will hold us up. When the ground is shifting we want something solid to stand on. This is a journey through the Bible in search of God's promises for us today. Let's look together to see how many "boulders" He has in His quarry for us to stand on! "It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants." Rom. 9:8

Promise 9 from Deuteronomy 3:22

Deut. 3:22 - "'Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.'"

Moses is recapping the Israelite journey. He is reminding them of the promise that was made to Joshua, to not fear the kingdoms of the lands he will be passing through because 'The Lord your God will be fighting for you.' This is a promise that we all need to be reminded of every once in a while. When fear creeps up and holds us back from being all that God has freed us to be. Why is it so difficult some times to just rest in this promise and let God be God in our lives? Every individual has their own reasons. We just need to be sure we don't reason away the truth of the promise that God will fight for us when fear arises.
