In Search of God's Promises

What is the one thing we do when we feel out of control in a situation? We grasp onto something stable, something we can lean on, something that will hold us up. When the ground is shifting we want something solid to stand on. This is a journey through the Bible in search of God's promises for us today. Let's look together to see how many "boulders" He has in His quarry for us to stand on! "It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants." Rom. 9:8

Promise 16 from Deuteronomy 5:29

Deut. 5:29 - "'Oh that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and keep all my commandments always, that it may be well with them and with their sons forever!'"

Can you hear the longing in God's voice when He says this? "Oh, if only they had such a heart..." God reveals His passion to Moses and His people. He so longs for His people to be in right relation with Him, to live in their destiny as children of God, to be content in all they have and who they are, to be children who work out of a place of rest. Where there is rest, there is peace, joy contentment and love. This is His desire for His people. He set everything up for their lives to be this way. He made it all possible. They just needed to choose to step into all that He had prepared for them. That's all! The promise here is that God has it all set up for us too. We just need to decide, are we going to step into our destiny and grab ahold of all He has set up for us, or continue in a life of striving?
