In Search of God's Promises

What is the one thing we do when we feel out of control in a situation? We grasp onto something stable, something we can lean on, something that will hold us up. When the ground is shifting we want something solid to stand on. This is a journey through the Bible in search of God's promises for us today. Let's look together to see how many "boulders" He has in His quarry for us to stand on! "It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants." Rom. 9:8

Promise 65 Gen. 24:60

Gen. 24:60 - "They blessed Rebekah and said to her, 'May you, our sister, become thousands of ten thousands, and may your descendants possess the gate of those who hate them'." Rebekah's brothers said a word of blessing over her before she set out with Abraham's servant. I must admit I don't speak words of blessings over people near as much as I ought to. God gives people those words as they speak them out. What a blessing to give someone; "May you become thousands of ten thousands," I love that. I'm going to hop on that blessing too and believe that from my existence in God's kingdom here on earth, God will expand that kingdom by thousands upon thousands through the generations of those who will sing out Halleluia to their Heavenly Daddy! Amen! Bring it on Lord!
