In Search of God's Promises

What is the one thing we do when we feel out of control in a situation? We grasp onto something stable, something we can lean on, something that will hold us up. When the ground is shifting we want something solid to stand on. This is a journey through the Bible in search of God's promises for us today. Let's look together to see how many "boulders" He has in His quarry for us to stand on! "It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants." Rom. 9:8

Promise 72 Gen. 28:31

Gen. 28:31 - "Now the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren." Most people who feel like they are unloved, lonely and abandoned by others tend to think it is the Lord that doesn't love them and that's why nobody else does. But that is so not true. God had compassion on Leah because it seemed as though no one loved her. Her eyesight was poor so I'm guessing she was not as productive as her sister, the shepherdess, plus she wasn't as beautiful as her sister so she was always being compared to her and didn't receive the healthy attention that her sister got. But she wasn't second class to God. He gave her many children for which she would love and in return they would love her as their mother. God is a compassionate God, He does not leave anyone off on their own. His love is equal for all.
